What If

What if we were able to do everything that we ever thought about doing or really wanted to do? What if we actually pursued things seriously, and kept working to get them, no matter what it takes? What if we never gave up until we accomplished our goals and never accepted defeat or failure because well, anything that we want can be ours, granted that sufficient effort is put into achieving them …

What if we stopped giving up so easily? What if we did more than the minimum that is required and actually stepped out of our comfort zones, pushing ourselves, and doing things that we’ve never done to get to where we wanted to go? What if we stopped writing certain things off as ‘too difficult’ or reserved them only for certain people because we aren’t willing to go further than we have ever previously gone because of complacency, fear of failure, or lack of faith in our own abilities?

What would happen if everyone realized that he or she is just as capable of achieving anything as a person who is accomplished and ‘successful?’ What if we all realized that anything is possible with faith in ourselves, hard work and persistence? What if we stopped being so scared and actually tried? Like, really tried, and not halfheartedly try and then immediately give up when we don’t accomplish what we set out to do right away …

Most importantly, what if we stopped thinking, fantasizing or talking about doing things, and actually tried to do them?

The biggest obstacle that stands between us and achieving anything that we want is ourselves. In fact, we are our only obstacle when it comes to achieving anything. Any other thing that has the ability to hinder us from doing something can only stop us if we let it. It’s all about our mindset and the way that we choose to respond to certain things; if we come across an obstacle, it’s up to us to decide whether we let it stop us and be permanently discouraged, or whether we choose to treat it as a slight ‘bump in the road,’ and do whatever it takes to get over it and continue pushing forward.

What we think we are capable of pales in comparison to what we are actually capable of – Rachelle Tobierre
